Tapered Fork on a non-Tapered headtube install. This video shows how to install a tapered fork (1 1/8 - 1 1/2 inch) to a 44mm bore semi-integrated headtube (similarly known as Zero stack headtube).
Why install tapered fork to a non tapered headtube in the first place???
You may have an old bike frame or have a new bike that came with a headtube that is designed to fit only a straight steerer fork and you want to take advantage on the features of a tapered fork (stiffness), then this is the solution. Using this solution, you now have wider options on types of forks you can use on your bike.
A special headset is required to make this install possible, headset = Superstar Components /Tapertech44.
Note that other headset makers like Cane Creek also makes these kind of headsets (EC44/40) http://store.canecreek.com/p/40-ec44-40-bottom-assembly
Hope also has same headset for this purpose.
